ONEONTA _ Mrs. Molly T. Abbott, 89, of Oneonta, was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008.
Born on May 18, 1919, in Scranton, Pa., she was a daughter of the late George and Frances (Talbot) Yohe.
She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Johnson City and Oneonta Central School districts.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oneonta and a member of the Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, reading and playing bridge.
She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; and her brother, Richard Yohe.
She is survived by her sons, Richard (Holly) Abbott of Oxford; Robert Michael (Carole) Abbott of Hendersonville, Tenn.; daughter, Kathy (Drue) Muehl of Perry; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and nieces.
Molly's family sincerely thanks her caregivers and hospice staff for the compassionate care given to her in her time of need; the staff at Meals on Wheels; and Conrad Boglioli, with whom she enjoyed visiting.
Molly's celebration of life service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church, 296 Main St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Mark Montfort, pastor, officiating.
A family gathering and interment in the Glenwood Cemetery in Oneonta will take place prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington Memorial Library, 62 Chestnut St., Oneonta; the First Presbyterian Church, 296 Main St., Oneonta; or Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Dr., Oneonta, NY 13820.
