Henry Schenk, one of the pioneer settlers of this county, passed away at his home in Decoria township at 11 o'clock last night from the effects of a general breakdown brought on by advancing years. Deceased was born in Germany May 5, 1825, and came to this country when a young man, first settling in Ohio, where he was married, and about fifty years ago moved to Decoria where he made his home up to the time of his death.
Deceased is survived by five children, Henry A. Schenk and the Misses Caroline and Clara Schenk, living at borne; Mrs. Anna Buelow, Decoria, and Mrs. Louis Reader of Danville.
The funeral will be held from the house Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock and from the Decoria church at 2 o'clock; and the remains will be laid at rest in the Decoria cemetery. MR, 5/28/1917
