Jigsy is my Paternal Great Uncle.

Son of John William White and Mary Bridget Shaughnessy.

1901 Irish Census: Living in Cloghan aged 16, occupation listed as Agricultural Labourer.

Married Elizabeth 'Frances' Blong on the 9th of February 1908 at the Banagher Catholic Chapel.

1911 Irish Census: Living at 5 Church Lane in Banagher, Offaly, Ireland, with wife and 2 year old son George. Occupation listed as General Labourer.

Thomas, his 8 brothers and 2 brother in law's joined the Connaught Rangers in the Great War. Amazingly all survived. Service Number: 5615 - Rank: Private.

A newspaper article from The Londonderry Sentinel - dated Tuesday 14 November 1916, stated he was wounded.

Newspaper article from The Freeman's Journal dated Tuesday, 1st of May 1917. Listed Thomas as a Prisoner of War.

On the 10th of December 1964 Thomas passed away at Cuba Avenue, Banagher, County Offaly, Ireland. Cause of death: Congestive Cardiac Failure and Chronic Bronchitis.
