Mrs. Carrie Banks Romano, 79, of 2804 Grandview St., Bluefield, died Saturday at a Bluefield Hospital after a short illness. Born in Isom, Ky., she had lived in Bluefield for 50 years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield, the St. Annex a Guild, the American Legion Auxiliary and Republicans Club.
Survivors include her husband, Domenic Romano; one son, Joseph Romano of Pearisburg, Va.; three daughters, Kathleen Cox of Glen Mills, Pa., Alena Caldwell and Mimi Spry, both of Bluefield; one sister, Amy Romano of Marion, Ohio, formerly of Bluefield; two brothers, Hobart Banks of Louisville, Ky., and Britton Banks of Bristol, Va.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Leon Alexander officiating. Interment will be at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. A wake service will be held at 8 p.m. today at Hawkins Memorial Chapel of the Roselawn Monte Vista Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Funeral Home today from 6 to 9 pm.
