Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of almost 40 years, Carolyn Jane (Buhrman) Thomas, three sons, Michael Alan Thomas, James Aaron Thomas, Jeffrey Scott Thomas and wife Angela, step-daughter, Brenda and husband, Wayne Duvall, step-son, Greg and wife, Lisa Fehrenbach.
Jimmy also leaves his grandchildren, Jason and Tressa Simmons , Tahlequah, OK, Brandon and Erin Simmons, Tahlequah, OK, Austin Grant, Tahlequah, OK, Anthony and Trish Thomas, Tahlequah, OK, Rachel Thomas, Tahlequah, OK, James Thomas, Park Hill, OK, Jordan Thomas, Park Hill, OK, Addison Thomas, Tulsa, OK as well as many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sisters, Judy Lamons and Mary Jane Smith and brother, David Thomas.
Jimmy served his country honorably with the 45th Army National Guard.
He worked for the US postal Service from June 1958 until February 1992 unable to sit still he returned to the Post Office and worked many more years as a rural carrier.
He enjoyed working his farm and cattle. Jimmy could often be found at the sale barn on Saturday. Jimmy was a member of the Cherokee County Cattleman's Association and Park Hill Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or Park Hill Baptist Church.
