Son of Nathaniel and Mary (Steen) Cloud. Married Martha Cobene on June 18, 1829 in Fairfield County, Ohio.

Corporal, War of 1812. Enlisted Sept. 1, 1813, discharged March 1, 1814.

Soldier Grave Registration records indicates burial was in Cloud Cemetery, Fairfield County. Only one marker has been found in this cemetery, for an infant with the surname Cloud. May alternately have been buried in New Salem Methodist-Protestant Cemetery with Martha (Cobene) Cloud, who died in April 1857. It is also possible a first wife is buried in Cloud Cemetery.
