Darlene June Spaulding, age 82, of Rochester, MN died April 6, 2022 at Mayo Clinic- St. Marys Campus from a hemorrhagic stroke.
Darlene J. Auslund was born June 18, 1939 in Hoffman, MN to Joel and Pearl (Strom) Auslund. She attended and graduated from Elbow Lake High School where she was a basketball cheerleader for both Hoffman and Elbow Lake and was a solo clarinetist and also played in the marching band. Darlene was united in marriage to Clifford Spaulding at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. She worked as an in-home health care provider for many years.
Darlene was a loving and caring mother and grandmother full of joy and optimism! She was a Christian and loved the Lord! Darlene enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends and never let any grass grow under her feet! She will be deeply missed!
She is survived by her brothers, Delano and Dennis Auslund; children, Julie (Tom) Ellis of Oronoco, MN, Joan Alavena of Mpls, MN, Jaci (Ron) Rietveld of Aitkin, MN, Joel (Becky) Spaulding of Savage, MN, Jason Spaulding of Rochester, MN; 11 grand-children, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and great-grandson Carter.
Memorial services for Darlene J. Spaulding will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 18, 2022 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman, MN.
