JOEL AUSLAND FINAL RITE HELD

Funeral services for Mr. Joel Ausland, 78, of Hoffman, MN, were held on Tuesday, July 7, at 11 a.m., at Bethel Lutheran Church, Hoffman, with Rev. Theodore Carlson officiating. Internment was in Bethel Cemetery, Hoffman.

Furnishing music were Mrs Laverne Olson, organist, and Maynard Nordquist and Harriet Hubredk soloists.

The son of John and Annie (Ahlborn) Ausland, Joel was born on Oct. 21, 1908 in Hoffman. He was baptized and confirmed in the Bethel Lutheran Church in Hoffman, and he graduated from high school in Hoffman. He later graduated from the Minneapolis Business School.

Mr. Ausland worked at Baraboo, Wisconsin, and later returned to Hoffman where he was in the trucking business.

He was united in marriage to Evelyn Crow on Sept. 29, 1946 in Minneapolis. The couple bought a trucking company in Elbow Lake which they operated for many years. They lived in Arizona for 11 years, and had returned to Hoffman to live one year ago.

Mr. Ausland was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He was an avid sportsman and loved bowling and other activities.

Joel Ausland passed away on Friday, July 3, 1987, at the Hoffman Care Center in Hoffman, MN.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Hoffman, three children: Delano Ausland of Albert Lea, MN, Darlene Spaulding of Bloomington, MN, and Dennis Ausland of Hoffman; three step children: Marsha Huseth of Naples, FL, Bill Crow of Bloomington, MN, and Camille Mickelson of Elbow Lake; 9 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Harvey (Luella) Soderholm of Hoffman, and one brother, Ivan Ausland of Hoffman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mildred Starner, one brother, Calvin Ausland, and his first wife Pearl who passed away March 7, 1945.
