Herbert Boody.
Herbert Boody Passed Away In California Herbert; A, Boody, was born March 13, 1883, in Isabella county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Boody and departed this life October 2, 1958. His boyhood days were spent on a farm, and later he attended Ferris Institute in Big Rapids, from which he was graduated. He was united in marriage to Lydia Allen of Clare, who preceded him in death September 29, 1947. To this union was born three daughters, Marjorie, Leona and Thelma, After their marriage they moved to Detroit where he worked in the Manufacturer's National Bank from which he retired around four years ago, After his retirement he spent several summers in Clare visiting relatives and friends. He was converted in early manhood and later became a member of the Nazarene church in Detroit, serving as Sunday School superintendent, teacher and choir member. The past three winters were Spent in Florida. This fall, in company with a friend, Mr. Gray, they toured the western states. He passed away suddenly in a Los Angeles, California hospital on October 2 and was returned to Detroit by plane to the Neely Funeral Home where services were held October 6. He leaves to mourn his loss. Three daughters, Mrs. Samuel Hassel, Mrs. Robert Presley and Leona Boody, and eight grandchildren, all of Detroit; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Oliver and Mrs, Roy Feighner and one brother, Ward Boody all of Clare, also a nephew, cousins and a host of friends. Mrs, Oliver, Mr. Boody and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Feighner went to Detroit for services. Page 8, Clare Sentinel, 16 October 1958.
