GEORGE BOODY

George Boody, son of Daniel and Lucina Boody, was born Jan. 1840, in Eaton Rapids, Mich., and passed away May 5, 1917, being at his death 77 years, 3 months and 29 days old.

In 1879, he came to Rosebush and on May 8 of the following year was united in marriage to Mary Tillotson. To them were born five children, three boys and two girls, one son dying in infancy. After their marriage they lived for some years in Nottawa township, Isabella Co. Later they moved to Gilmore township in the same county and six years ago they came to Clare which has since been their home.

Mr. Boody began to fail some fifteen years ago and for the past six of seven years has been unable to labor. For two years past he has been a helpless invalid in both mind and body. Confined to his bed, he has been a constant dependent upon his loved ones and has received constant and loving attention from his faithful wife and children.

The funeral, conducted by Rev. Large, was held from the home of Roy Feighner on Monday afternoon, with burial in Cherry Grove.

He leaves to mourn, his beloved wife; two daughters, Mrs. Olive Franklin of North Carolina and Mrs. Roy Feighner of Clare; two sons, Herbert A. and Mason W., both of Detroit, and many other relatives and friends. (Clare Sentinel, dated 10 May 1917) Thanks, Tom, for this obituary!
