Rosalinda De La Cruz-San Miguel made her heavenly transition, surrounded by loved ones, in her family home on June 28, 2022, in San Antonio, TX. She is preceded in death by her father, Vicente M. De La Cruz Jr.; grandmother, Dominga L. Medina; and nephew Santino De La Cruz. She is survived by her husband, Julio San Miguel; mother, Yolanda M. De La Cruz; children Adriana Martinez, Christian Martinez, and Nicholas Martinez; siblings, Angelica Chapa and Vincente De La Cruz III, and their spouses: Robert Chapa and Ann Marie Dyer; beloved grandson, Azul Martinez: and 6 nephews.

Rosalinda was born on March 12, 1965, in San Antonio, TX. A third-generation resident of the city's Eastside, Lindy had a childhood filled with joy. She made lifelong friends with kids in the neighborhood, enjoyed playing with all her cousins here in Texas, and road-tripping with her family to see extended family in Pennsylvania and Mexico. A devout Catholic, Lindy was an active member in the choir at San Fernando Cathedral, which enabled her to find her beautiful singing voice, sparked her voracious love of music, and provided a strong foundation in her faith. She also enjoyed camping out with her siblings to claim Fiesta parade seating, and spending summer days in the Guadalupe River.

Rosalinda was educated through the Archdiocese of San Antonio, graduated from St. Gerard Catholic High School, and briefly attended St. Mary's University before beginning her career with Walmart in 1989. Rose began as Cashier and ultimately became Asset Protection Coach. In her time there, Rose cultivated relationships that transcended just being coworkers: she created her Walmart family. The people she met there would eventually help her as she became a single mom, would ask her to baptize their babies, and would seek her counsel. Rose intuitively understood the importance of fostering a bond, perfectly balanced with a handful of tough love, that eventually made her the leader that was loved by all.

It was this same formula to which she applied to motherhood. Rosalinda held her children to high standards. A lioness of a mother, she loved and supported her children fiercely, persistent in their education, active in their extra curriculars, and was sure to instill the same moral code received from her parents. And like her parents did, Linda did her very best to ensure that her children had a fulfilled childhood: taking them to her childhood swimming spots, making their favorite meal on their birthday, every other weekend a new adventure in the city she loved so much. Adventures she continued with her grandson, Azul: breakfast dates at the neighborhood taqueria, followed by a day of exploring the community, and letting him have whatever he wanted.

Rosalinda also enjoyed laughing with friends, traveling with her mom, singing with her daddy, shopping with her sister, lovingly critiquing her baby brother's cooking, cheering for her son on Friday nights, watching for her daughter in parades, listening to her son practice in the garage, everything her grandson does, driving fast with the music turned all the way up, dancing the night away, reading books, crocheting, going to Mexico as often as she could, making her nephews their favorite rice and making sure they had the latest gaming system, and, of course, seeing so many friends and loved ones at Fiesta.

Visitation will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1114 Willow St. San Antonio, TX 78208, on July 11, 2022 at 5:00 p.m., followed by Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will also be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on July 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. All services conducted through Alamo Funeral Home, 624 N. Alamo St. San Antonio, TX 78215.
