The Jones cemetery is on the land that once was the Aaron and Mary Jones' farm.
This is according to the newspaper article "Frontier Harships Plauged Early Settlers" which appreared in the Palestine Regitry dated Tuesday, February 15, 1962, these are accounts taken from his grandson J William Jones.
Aaron Jones was one of the first settlers that settle on a farm about a mile south of Flat Rock, Illinois. Aaron was born in Wales about 1774 and came with his family to Virginia. Here he married Mary Shepherd. About the year 1798 they moved to the town of Clough in Southern Pennsylvania. Then in 1810 moved to Oxford, Ohio. Around the year 1831, Aaron Jones and several members of his family moved from Ohio to Crawford County. He entered land south where the villiage of Flat Rock was later built. Aaron and Mary both died in the year 1847.
