Mr. Berg died Tuesday at Swedish Hospital at Seattle.
He was born July 23, 1910, at Poulsbo, where he was a lifetime resident. He served in the Navy from 1942 to 1945, and following the war opened a service station. He owned and operated Berg's Auto Clinic until the time of his death.
Mr. Berg was an active member of First Lutheran Church, having joined it from Vinland Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. He served on the church council at First Lutheran for several terms, and it was at his suggestion that the lights on the steeple were installed.
He joined the Poulsbo Lodge of Sons of Norway in 1934 and served as president during 1940-41. He had been a trustee of the lodge for the past 12 years, and took an active part in building and planning the new Greig Hall, as well as its predecessor. He was also a delegate to numerous district and supreme lodge conventions. Mr. Berg was awarded life membership in Sons of Norway in July of 1974.
He was also an active sportsman, with membership in lodge golf and bowling teams, and participation in the Codfish Derby.
Mr. Berg is survived by his wife, Grace, a daughter, Ramona (Mrs. Kenneth) Davis and a grandson, all of Poulsbo.
