Janette Christman, 89, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at her home in Spearfish.
She was born in Mobridge, South Dakota on February 23, 1931 to Raymond and Esther (Cessna) Bergstrom.
Janette loved her work. She was employed for a combined 31 years for Homestake. She began her career at the Homestake Hospital and then went on to work at the Homestake Mining Company.
She leaves behind her children, Carla (Tom) Steiner, Fred Rieb, Larry (Constance) Rieb, Terry (Mary) Rieb, Cindy (Joe) Schumacher, Penny (Gale) Bryant; siblings, Mildred Schaneman, Laura Spiers, LaVerne Briscoe, Rennie Minnix, Carole Eckhart, Mickey (Fern) Bergstrom, Norman (Beverly) Bergstrom, Keith (Marna) Bergstrom, and Holly Bergstrom; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janette was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Rieb and Edward Christman; brothers, Lyle Smith, Don Bergstrom, Dale Bergstrom, and Marvin Bergstrom; and sisters, Edna Smith, June Jones, and Violet Bergstrom.
