NOLAN, CONSTANCE WHEELER, CONNIE NOLAN, 79, died in Birmingham on June 1, 2004. She was preceded in death by her mother Frankie Mae D'Olive Wheeler and her father, Murrell Wheeler, both of Mobile, and by her son Jack Hill Nolan, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Jack Hill Nolan, her beloved cat Ching, her sisters Janice Greer and Julia Nelson of Mobile, her children, Bill Nolan and Jacquelyn Felkins, both of Birmingham, her grandchildren Ramey Felkins and William Nolan, Jr., and son-in-law Rick Felkins and daughter-in-law Frances Nolan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Connie was born in Opp, Alabama December 5, 1924 and grew up in Mobile, where she graduated from Murphy High School. She majored in Chemistry at Auburn and was the first Medical Technician to work at Southern Research Institute. She later worked as a Medical Technician at the VA Hospital in Birmingham. She was a life-long member of All Saint's Episcopal Church and was a past president of Women of the Church at All Saint's. She was also active in various civic organizations in both Mobile and Birmingham. At various times in her life she was a private pilot, a square dancer, a horticulturalist and an enthusiastic traveler. In retirement she founded The Birmingham Antique Mall. She was an animal lover, an avid reader and an expert in several areas of antiques and collectibles, as well as a loving parent, wife, and grandmother. Funeral services and interment will be at All Saint's Episcopal Church, Saturday, June 5th, at noon. Memorials may be made to All Saint's Episcopal Church, 110 W. Hawthorne Road, Birmingham, 35209 in memory of Connie W. Nolan.
