24 March 1459: Charter by King James II. to John Kennedy son and apparent heir of Gilbert Lord Kennedy, and Elizabeth Montgomery wife of the said John Kennedy, and the heirs procreate between them, whom failling his nearest heirs whatsoever of the lands of Gabbrachhill, Auchintibber, Fulwood, Peacockbank, Brydiland, Spittal, Whitelees and the two Bordlands, lying in the County of Ayr; Proceeding on the resignation of the said John Kennedy; To be holden of the King and his successors for services used and wont. Witnesses - Geo. Bishop of Brechin Chancellor, James Lord Livingston Chamberlain, Andrew Lord Avondale, Patrick Lord Graham, Mr John Arous, Keeper of the Privy Seal, and Mr Geo. Liddel, Secretary. 25 March 1460: Charter by which James II, King of Scots, confirms to John Kennedy, son and heir of Gilbert, Lord Kennedy, possession of the lands of Garbrachil, Achintibire, Foulwod, Pacokbank, Bordeland, Spittale, Quitlayes, and two Bordlandis, in the sheriffdom of Ayr. The land is to be held by John Kennedy and his wife Elizabeth Montgomerie, and their lawful heirs, whom failing by John Kennedy's lawful heirs. Registrum Magnii Sigilli Regum Scotorum.
