Amy Blanton Pope (84) passed away peacefully on July 12, 2022 surrounded by her beloved husband and children. Amy was born in Cherokee County. It was nearby, while she was tap dancing in a talent show at Clifton Elementary, that Charles Terry Pope first saw Amy. It was love at first sight. Amy and Terry were a team and were married for 67 years. Amy was instrumental in Terry's almost 50 years of service to our country with the US Air Force and the NSA. Although both hailed from humble beginnings, Amy and Terry became citizens of the world, traveling the globe together living all over the US, Guam, Italy, and Germany while raising their two children, Marc Pope of Phenix City, AL and Angela Rinehart (Sean) of Chesapeake, VA.

Throughout her life, Amy was always involved in her community, including service organizations, bridge clubs, volunteer opportunities, and several positions in retail including managing a Spode China shop for over 15 years in Wiesbaden, Germany. Amy's goal in life was to touch another person's life every single day, which she did with elegance and grace.

Amy is pre-deceased by her parents Troy and Alease Blanton and her siblings Lynette Breland (James) and Wylie Blanton (Betty). She is survived by her husband, Terry, her children, Marc and Angela, the grandchildren she loved, Spencer Rinehart (Jennifer) and Chelsea Haney (Zach), her great grandchildren Nicholas Rinehart, Charlotte and Dorian Haney, and many loved nieces and nephews.

An intimate memorial for family will be held in the future. In the meantime, whenever you touch another's life, remember Amy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Hospice and the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
