Kathleen "Katie" Milburn, 96, of Greenwood, passed away on July 20, 2022. She was born in Bedford, Indiana.
She was a graduate of Columbus High School and attended Indiana Central, now U of Indy. Her life was marked by serving and enjoying the company of others. Katie and her late husband, Ralph, owned and operated Milburn Garage Doors for over 40 years. She spent the majority of her career advocating for the health of others, working at the Muscular Dystrophy Association, serving as associate director for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and leading the Hemophilia Foundation of Indiana as executive director for 27 years before retiring in 1991.
Katie was a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi of Whiteland and achieved the Alpha Gamma Master status. Katie's family and friends will remember her love of traveling, in particular, Hawaii. When not on an adventure, Katie enjoyed spending time playing cards with her friends, catching up with her family, and attending Southport Baptist Church which is now One Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Milburn; son, Danny Milburn; and siblings, Patricia Lewis and Jack Dalton.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Rex) Hankins; four grandchildren, Amy (Joe) Walters, Betsy Milburn, Tracy (Kurt) Sarbaugh, and Sean Hankins; eight great grandchildren, Maggie, Mitchell, Josie, Alex, Ellie, and Pollie Walters and Daniel Lain-Surtherlin, and Brayden and Evelyn Sarbaugh. Additionally, sisters, Shirley Sewell, Karen Garrity, Janet Baker Linda James, and Carol Porter.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until service time at 2:30 PM, Monday, July 25, 2022 at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135. She will be laid to rest privately at Washington Park East Cemetery.
