HENRY MAY
Henry H." Heinie" May of Route 4, in the Town of Fond du Lac, died at 11:05 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 1978, at Fond du Lac Lutheran Home Inc.
He was born Oct. 6, 1896, in Pipe Village, a son of the late Peter and Anna Michels May. He married Lydia Miller at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fond du Lac, and she died June 25, 1950.
For many years he operated a grocery store on East Merrill Ave. Prior to retirement, he manufactured and sold stock and poultry remedies under the name of Beacon Laboratories.
Mr. May served with the Navy in World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, a former member of the Holy Name Society, a member and former president of Eagles Aerie 270, a former member of Kiwanis Club and a charter member of Fond du Lac Chapter of SPEBSQSA.
Survivors include two sons, Donald T. of Fond du Lac and Robert M. of Appleton; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Marilyn) Smith of Madison and Mrs Richard (Betsy) Haskett of the Town of Fond du Lac; 21 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Six brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zacherl Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. The Rev. Ernest O. Dreher will officiate, and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation for Mr. May will be after 3 p.m. today and until 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to St. Lawrence Seminary or a charity of your choice.
