Chester Bennett, 75, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 at his residence.

He was born on February 3, 1947 in Raleigh County, WV to the late Alma Faye Bennett Richmond Kessler and was married to Mary Faye Lovett Bennett who survives.

Chester retired from Alamance Regional Medical Center in housekeeping. He formerly worked in textiles at Webco Mills and was the custodian and blacksmith with Cedar Rock Park for 18 years. He was a member of Apostolic Church in Siler City, he enjoyed blacksmithing, going to flea markets, making baskets, being involved in reenactments and being the Historian and Blacksmith at Cedar Rock Park.

Survivors other than his wife, Mary Bennett include his sons, David Eugene Bennett and wife Amelia, Dwight "Tony" Anthony Bennett; daughters, Mary Katheryn Bennett and Anita Gale Bennett; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; his siblings, Katherine R. Paschal and husband Wayne, Carolyn R. Cales, Rose Richmond, Larry Richmond, Diane R. Smith, Rebecca R. Warren, Ralph Darrell Kessler and Loretta Lynn Kessler; numerous nieces and nephews.

Chester was preceded in death by an infant son, Chester Allen Bennett, his mother Alma Faye Bennett Kessler and step father, Ralph Kessler.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Mike Crosby with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
