Graveside services for Mr. Alfred Deforest "Fred" Blount, Sr., of Millry, AL, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Healing Springs Cemetery in Millry, AL, with Reverend Mike Gunn officiating.
Mr. Blount was born January 23, 1927, in Wagar, AL to Mardis Monroe Blount, Sr. and Ola Reed Blount. He passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Washington Choctaw Nursing Home in Chatom, AL. Fred enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing and loved cutting grass.
He is survived by his sons, Al Blount of Millry, AL and Will Blount of Millry, AL; daughters, Barbara Crawley (Bill) of Mobile, AL and Carola Thompson (Greg) of Grayson, GA; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sister, Pat Blount Hill of Millry, AL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mardis Monroe Blount, Sr.; mother, Ola Reed Blount; brothers, Mardis Monroe Blount, Jr. and Rufus Grady Blount; and sisters, Mildred Blount Rosson, Carolyn Blount Hemmingway, and Francis Blount McDonnell.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gene Loper, Greg Thompson, Jim Hill, Ed Hill, Al Blount, and Will Blount.
