Wyoming County Times, Thursday July 11, 1940:
Son of the late Jacob and Catherine Christ New, passed away at his home in Warsaw. Born in Warsaw, N.Y. January 18, 1863. He is survived by his wife, Martha Ellwanger Smith New, 2 sons Edward C. New of Warsaw, Frank J. New of Buffalo, and 2 daughters, Mrs. Mary Wright of Warsaw, and Mrs. Louise Moudy of North Tonawanda; also 2 granddaughters, Corinne and Nancy New of Buffalo. He attended high school at Warsaw Union school and was a farmer for his entire life up until he retired 5 years ago due to illness. He was a member of the Orangeville Town Board for many years. He served as justice of the peace of Orangeville township for 35 years, also was deputy sheriff of Orangeville township for 35 years.
