The funeral of John W. Arnold took place this afternoon at 3 o'clock from his late residence on Main street. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. F. Baughman, assisted by Rev. M. H. Keen, and interment was in Queens Point cemetery.


Mr. Arnold was born in Winchester, Va., August 9. 1843. He came to Keyser about 36 years ago and engaged in business. He married Miss Virgnia Young on November 26, 1868, and he is survived by his wife and four sons, John L., Chas P., Stewart B., William T. and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Stanhagen and Mrs. Bertha Sliger.


Mr. Arnold was a Confederate soldier and private in company A, 5th Virginia Regiment of the Infantry. The pall bearers were three of his old comrades, J. M. Linthicum, H. W. Baker and William Parrell, and J. B. Fetzer, A. W. Coffroth, and W. E. Crooks from the National Union, of which Mr. Arnold an insurance member. The honorary pallbearers were: Messrs. C. M Miller, L. T. Carskadon, Waverly Atkins, Floyd Knight, V. F. Akire, Dr. Dick Gerstell, Gus Wolfe, Wm. Kaufman, H. L. Welch, C. E. Nethken, Harry Keys, Jarred Merryman, Wm. Stewart, and Scott Brown.
