Ann Clampitt, 105, a resident of the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk, died Friday afternoon (Oct. 20, 2000) at the home.

She was born Oct. 6, 1895 in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda (Timerick) Koran. Mrs. Clampitt had previously resided in Oklahoma before moving to Dunkirk in 1975. She had been employed as a bookkeeper/secretary for the Midwest Consistory of Scottish Rite. A lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she also belonged to the Putnam City Christian Church and was a Gold Star Mother. An avid traveler, Mrs. Clampitt was also featured in a movie made for television entitled "Long, Long Ago."

She is survived by a daughter, Marjory Diehl of Brocton; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, John Joseph Clampitt, a Marine killed on Okinawa on June 18, 1945, and James Koran Clampitt; and two brothers, Joseph and George Koran.
