Anne Harris passed away at age 64 in Seattle after a long illness. Anne was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and moved to Israel by herself at age 18 the day after she finished high school in June of 1976. It was there, in February of 1977, she met her future husband Ed Harris, an American who grew up in New Jersey. They married in Amsterdam in 1978 when Anne was 20 years old and moved to the United States together, where they both enrolled at Rutgers University. Anne earned a BA from Rutgers and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University. Shortly after completing her studies, Anne and Ed had their first of three children. She decided to stay home and devote her energy to raising a family, which remained her lifelong passion. In 1990, Anne and her family moved to Seattle from New Jersey.
Anne was artistic and creative. Her home was bursting with energy from a dynamic collection of art and design, much of which was her own work. She was also quite musical and had a beautiful singing voice.
Anne was a gracious host. Her home was open to all who entered. She was particularly close to her husband Ed's family, where she was treated like a daughter by his parents and a granddaughter by his two grandmothers.
Anne was also a deeply ethical and moral person. She gave generously to charity and was a champion of the overlooked and neglected. She was strongly committed to Jewish values, beliefs and religious traditions.
Anne leaves behind a husband, three children, two granddaughters, a son-in-law, her mother, two siblings, her father-in-law, a niece and nephew and many other friends and family who deeply mourn her passing.
