Mark Neary Donohue was the second son of Michael Donohue and Mary Ellen Neary. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware.

Mark grew up living at 1307 Clayton Avenue in Wilmington, with his brother, Thomas and his sister, Elizabeth and his mother, Mary Ellen. His father, Michael died when he was only two years old of Tuberculosis.

Mark moved to 1305 Clayton Street, just next door from his old house when his mother married, James Gibney. When his mother married, Mark gained one stepsister, Elizabeth G. and two stepbrothers, Frederick James and Louise Garland. After his mother married Jack Gibney, the two of them had two more children, Robert B., and John Neary Gibney who they called Jack, giving Mark two more brothers. Mark ended up being one of eight children.

On November 24, 1934, Mark Married Hazel M Wright whose nickname would become Zilly. They were married in Newark, Delaware. Three children would come from their union, Mark Neary Donohue, Nancy J. Donohue and Mary Ellen Donohue Wulff.

According to a US City Directory in 1934, Mark was a lawyer.

Mark died on November 1, 1983 at the age of 77 in Chatham, Morris County, New Jersey. He is buried in St. Teresa Cemetery in Summit Union, New Jersey.
