She was born in Trenton, the daughter of Richert and Mildred Fell (nee Jones) who preceded her in death. Doris was an independent, spirited woman who worked during World War II as a hydraulics mechanic for Avenger aircraft at General Motors in West Trenton. She retired from Sterling, a pharmaceutical company in Trenton. She was steadfast in her beliefs in God, hard work, and devotion to her parents and family. Doris attended Pearson United Methodist Church and will be missed by the friends in her Trenton community.
Doris (affectionately known as "Dot" or "Dotty") is survived by a daughter, Gail Thayer; two granddaughters, Pamela King and Lori Sokalsky; her brother Gilbert Fell; and her sister Eleanor Dennis, who, along with many nieces, nephews, friends, and her canine companion Tori, will greatly miss her.
