Services for Helen Thompson, 65, Topeka, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, Topeka. Burial will be in Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery, Winchester.
Mrs. Thompson died Monday, June 1, 1998, at her home.
She was born June 19, 1932, in Lawrence, the daughter of Charles and Melvia Chenoweth Winchell. A homemaker, she had lived in Topeka since moving from Lawrence in 1973.
She married Roy V. Ray in 1949 in Lawrence. They divorced.
Survivors include her mother, Melvia Winchell, Lawrence; her companion, Richard Howerton, Topeka; a son, Stanley Ray, Topeka; two daughters, Janet Jimenez and Donna Tibbits, both of Lawrence; a brother, Walter Winchell, Topeka; three sisters, Rose Bagby, Denison, Carol Hale, Topeka, and Marilyn Noble, Oskaloosa; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
