Professional Football Player. He was born John Lachlan Taylor, he was a guard for the Chicago Staleys (1921), who was a charter member of the National Football League and were renamed the Chicago Bears, the Canton Bulldogs (1922), the Brooklyn Lions/Brooklyn Horsemen (1926). While with the Chicago Staleys he was a AFPA Champion and a member of the 1922 Canton Bulldogs Championship team. He retired from professional football at the end of the 1926 season and later became an assistant coach at Ohio University in Athens in 1927 and an assistant coach at Ohio University in Columbus in 1928. He was also the line coach at Marquette University from 1929 to 1940. He later became a scout for the Big Ten college conference as well as for Bears. In his professional career he played in 24 games of which he started in 23 of them.
