Ethel King Abbott McCain--Second wife of Usher McCain
Funeral services for Ethel McCain, 91, Snyder, Ok. will be held Friday, May 22 1987, 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Snyder with the Rev. Bill Willis officiating. She died Tuesday, May 19, 1987 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illiness. Mrs. McCain was
born June 18, 1896, in Albertsville, Alabama. She came to
Oklahoma with her parents, the late George and Agnes King, in 1900. They established a home in the Lock community in Jackson County, moving to Mountain Park, Ok. a short time
later. She married Boyd Abbott on Feb 8 1915 at Lawton. They
had four children. She married Usher McCain in September of 1945, when she married McCain and established a home in Snyder, where she lived since. She was a member of the First
Christian Church at Snyder, having been baptized as a young girl with her sister's at Old Camels Lake near Mountain Park, Ok. She was a charter member of the Tuesday
Study Club at Mountain Park and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her two sons, Harry Abbott, Lawton and Jerry Abbott, Yucaipa, California, two daughters
Marguerite Roland, Phoenix, Arizona and Mary Jane Williams, Fort Worth, Texas. Two sisters Eunice Bower and Aleycone Marsh both of Snyder, one brother George King, Oklahoma City, Ok. 15 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers are to be grandsons and nephews. Internment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Preston-Leckie Funeral Home.
