Albert graduated from Lehman High School, Class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954, serving in the 2nd Battalion 14th Armed Calvary Regiment while stationed in Fulda, Germany. Albert was a self-employed contractor for over 60 years. He was a member of Roaring Brook Baptist Church and the NRA.
Albert was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. Albert harvested 52 bucks in his lifetime alongside his wife. His hobbies included farming, and he had a passion for his garden. Albert and his wife, Charlotte, recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on May 10, 2022.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Gladys Lowerts, Jessie Woessner and Audrey Nelson; and brothers, Irving and William Ashton.
Albert is survived by his wife, the former Charlotte Culp; daughters, Sandy Pelleschi and husband, Mike; Donna DeCesaris and husband, Angelo; and Jane Ashton and husband, David Puchalsky; son, Albert Ashton and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Angelo, Theresa, Melissa, Megan, Michael, Katee, Aleah and Seanna; and great-grandchildren, Conner, Isabella, Vincenzo, Gianna, Gavin, Sofia, Lucia and Mallory.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, from Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with the Rev. Dan Brubaker of Roaring Brook Baptist Church officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery, Jackson Twp.
