Mrs. Horner was born in Paulding county, Ohio, Aug. 27, 1868, and was married to John Horner Jan. 24, 1885. In 1897 they came to Gladwin county, and settled on a farm in Sherman township. They lived here until 1909 when they moved to Gladwin city where Mr. Horner died Dec. 22, 1912.
In 1920 Mrs. Horner took to raise the daughter, aged three days, of her nephew, John Rangier, who with his wife died Feb. 7, 1920, of flu in Bay City.
She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Mella Gould of Flint, and two sisters, Mrs. B. J. Bailey of Roscommon county, and Mrs. John Chaney of Xenia county, Ohio.
The body was brought to Gladwin from Flint June 1 by her son-in-law and her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gould. Services were held at the M. E. church Sunday afternoon, June 4, at 3:30 conducted by Rev. E. T. Smith, followed by burial beside her husband in Ridge cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 7-6/1922 Column – 5 Page – 5.
