Inscription
Erected by Alxr McClure in memory of his mother Margt Cleave, who died in Flerog, in 1800 aged 74 years. His father John McClure who also died at Flerog, in 1813, aged 91 years, but who was formerly Farmer in Laigh Creoch, where his forefathers lived for centuries. His half sister Jannet Dowall who died at Gatehouse in 1820 aged 72 years. His sister Mary McClure who died in Gatehouse in 1822 aged 64 years. His sister Elizabeth who also died at Gatehouse in 1823 aged 56 years. Also the Erector who died 27 Jan. 1845 aged 80 years. John McMillan nephew to the Erector who died at Gatehouse 10th Nov. 1857 aged 77.
