It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Anna Mae Roberts Shepard on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at her home in Roanoke County. Anna Mae was born on February 24, 1934 in Covington, Virginia. She was the daughter of Landon "Grayson" and Donna Jackson Roberts.
Anna attended Covington High School, sang in the choir and was known for her beautiful voice. She moved to Roanoke where she was a very busy mother who guided her children into adulthood. Anna enjoyed working at the Millers & Rhodes and then at the Roanoke County Occupational School as a teacher's aide. Outside of work, she enjoyed golfing, arts & crafts, playing bridge, & traveling – all with her close friends. Caring for her flowers was very important. Her pets "Lil Dog" and "Holly" were a big part of her life as well.
Preceding Anna in death are her husband, David Shepard Sr.; her brother, Paul Roberts; her sisters, Janet In-Albon (Eric) and Eunice Snead (Raymond); in-laws Joe Shepard, Mike Shepard, and Elaine and Ray Williams;
Left to remember Anna are her children, David, Mark (Marcella), Scott, Amy, and John (Nancy); Also, she is survived by her grandchildren, Felecia Murch, Christina Love, and Gabriella Shepard; her great-grandchildren, Caleb, Liliana, and Cohen; and her in-laws, Beverly Roberts and family, Jean Shepard, Karen Shepard, Ann Lewis, Steve Shepard, and Marilyn Thompson and their extended families. May she Rest In Peace,

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Oakey's North Chapel with burial to follow at Alleghany Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
