On February 2, 2008, Ella Belle Markle Francis went home to her Lord and Saviour to be with Him and her beloved husband, Dexter Francis, after a sudden illness.



Ella (Cootcha) was 90 years old. Ella was born January 12, 1918, in Seminole Oklahoma, to William (Bill) and Alice Delores Abbott Markle. Ella married her life long love, Dexter Francis, March 31, 1939, at Lanagan, Missouri.



Ella and Dexter made their life long homes in the Southwest City, Dodge, and Grove communities. To this union 2 children were born, Joan Carole Francis Pendleton, and George Wilgus Francis.



Ella worked in her early years at the O'Briens Poultry Company. She was a wonderful homemaker who excelled in handi-crafts, gardening, canning, hunting, fishing, reading, word puzzles and was an excellent shot with a rifle. She was also an avid prayer warrior. Ella enjoyed visiting with her brothers and sisters, cooking for her family, berry picking, and was an expert seamstress. Ella was of the Pentecostal faith and a long time member of the Church of God, Grove, OK.



Her husband, Dexter, passed away October 17, 2000. Ella is survived by her children, Joan Carole Francis Pendleton of Grove, OK, and George Wilgus Francis (Josephine) of Owasso, OK and she is survived by her sisters: Aliene Harris of Grove, Jo Anna Kissiar of Oklahoma City, Judy Ramos of Gulf Breeze, FL and one brother in-law, Richard Light. Ella has 6 grandchildren, Terri Pendleton Sanday (Brian), William Dean Pendleton (Amy), Laura Leigh Pendleton Wood (David), Kevin Tracy Francis (Julie), Gregory Markle Francis (Michelle), Betsy Diane Francis Anderson (Jeff) additionally; she has 17 great grand children and 8 great-great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her husband Dexter, her brothers and sisters, Amma Markle, Edna Markle Brown, Emma Markle, J. C. Markle, Jack Markle, Sue Powell, Wilma Sanford, Ada Walls, and her son-in-law, William (Bill) Pendleton.



Pallbearers will be: Justin Sanday, Brian Sanday, Dean Pendleton, Brian Nichols, Tyler Harris, and Gary Christensen. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Light.



Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5th, at the Turner Funeral Home in Grove, Ok. Services will be Wednesday, February 6th, 2008 at Dodge Baptist Church East of Grove at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Olympus Cemetery in Grove, OK. Officiating will be Pastor Richard Hart of the Full Gospel Church of Southwest City, MO. Services under the direction of the Jim Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, Oklahoma.
