Born April 6, 1939, in Holcomb, Mo., daughter of the late Raymond and Melissa James Samples, she was a homemaker.
On April 2, 1955, in Hernando, Miss., she married Denver Brown, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, John Brown and wife, Regina, of Dexter, Mo.; two daughters, Earlene Barnett and husband, Tom and Sherry Newell and husband, Tim, all of Sikeston; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Randy Brown and three brothers, Walter, L.J. and Charles Samples.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, June 26, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Blake Tiemann officiating.
