Vincent Anastasio, Sr. of New Haven died Thursday January 31, 2008 in Connecticut Hospice. He was the husband of Luella G. Anastasio. Vinny was born in New Haven September 13, 1936 a son of the late Salvatore and Maria Anastasio. He rose through the ranks of the New Haven Police Department before retiring as a Detective. He later worked as a Constable for Yale New Haven Hospital, as a security manager at Yale University and most recently as a security officer with the Knights of Columbus, Supreme Headquarters. He was a member of Porcini International, the East Haven Centurions and a fourth degree Knight, Knights of Columbus Council 13500.
Vinny is the father of Vincent Anastasio Jr., NHPD and George Anastasio Sr. Brother of Josephine Amatruda, Frederick Anastasio and the late Louise Russell, Rose Nargi and Lawrence Anastasio. Grandfather to Francesca, Vincent, Nicole and George Jr.
