Mrs. Geneva Hill, age 71 of Kennard, passed away Monday, January 14, 2008 in the Hospice in the Pines Inpatient Unit at Memorial Hospital in Lufkin. Mrs. Hill was born June 19, 1936 in Houston County, Texas and lived in Kennard most of her lifetime. Mrs. Hill was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Women's Missionary Auxiliary. Mrs. Hill was a member of the Piney Creek Baptist Church where she served as church secretary and was also a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law Nina and C. J. Wisniewski, of Houston, Tracy and Todd Hutson, of Kennard; son and daughter-in-law James and Judy Hill, of Spring; daughter-in-law Kimberley Jones, of Lufkin; grandchildren Jason Wisniewski, Laura Wisniewski, Brandon Hill and wife Rhea, Jared Hill, Lane Hill, Megan Hill White,,Zack Wisniewski, J. R. Hutson, Caitlyn Hutson; sisters Annie Hill and husband Jean and Wanda Johnson, all of Kennard, Mary Glaser, of Crockett; brothers R. L. Smith and wife Dianne, J. R. Smith and G. O. Smith and wife Retha, all of Kennard; brother-in-law George Seale, of Crockett; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by her husband Jim E. Hill; son Steve Hill; parents H. O. and Mattie (Foster) Smith; and sister Shermie Smith Seale.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Geneva Hill were held Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Bickley, the Rev. Terry Gibson and the Rev. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Piney Creek Baptist Church.
