Sarah Matilda CLARK (1862 TX – 1950 OK) was the 5th of 10 children born to Larkin Levin CLARK (1811 OH – 1893 TX) and his 2nd wife Martha Ann Jeanette Merritt KAST (1837 PA – 1915 TX). Soon after the war, her husband-to-be, 13 yr old David Crockett LANE, was brought to TX from TN after his dad died & his mom relocated in Texas Co. MO. As a ranch hand in Montague-Grayson Co, TX area, he must have come in contact with stockman Larkin CLARK and his lovely daughter Sarah.

David LANE, 22 ½ married Sarah CLARK, 19, in Montague Co, TX on 27 Sep 1881. For their first 6-7 years they made their home in New Sherman, Grayson Co, TX, probably using CLARK property. They moved to Duncan, Stephens Co, OK - Indian Territory and for the next decade or so celebrated CLARK, LANE, and RICHEY unions. These families migrated to Lone Wolf, Kiowa Co, & Washita C, areas as the families grew older. Sarah & David had a dozen children who loved and honored their parents.

Their 12 children were: Hattie Myrtle (RICHEY) 1882-1905;Sadie Belle (RICHEY)1884-1973; Ida Elvira (COPELAND) 1886-1978; Walter Larkin 1891-1907; Eva Pearl (BARBRE) 1892-1989; Loney Pleasant 1894-1973; Wm Arthur 1896-1967; David Paul 1898-1918; Joe Ed 1900-1988; Audie Maggie (ELLIOTT) 1902-1960; Addie Bernice (FOSTER & MALDONADO) 1904-2003; and Albert A 1906-1971
