Verno Sheridan Guymon, age 84, passed away February 5, 2008 in the presence of his family, which loved and adored him. He resided at 93 North Main Street in North Salt Lake, Utah at the time of his death.

Verno was born March 16, 1923 in Fountain Green, Utah to Rose Elizabeth Hansen and James Monroe Guymon.

It was here in this small central Utah community, with his brother Bob, that dad learned to love nature and the beauties of God's creations.

He served his country with pride from 1942-1945 as Seaman First Class on the U.S.S. Harris. Dad met and married the love of his life, Catherine Seely (Mama), on August 20, 1945. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Novemebr 3, 1972.

Daddy was an avid hunter, fisherman, rock hound, bird watcher, and gardener. His love of the great outdoors was unending. This passion and attribute has been ingrained into the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren because Daddy spent his time, in loving patience, enjoying with us his life and hobbies.

Dad was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints along with being a faithful Scout leader in the Boy Scouts of America.

Preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers (Elmo, Newell, Robert), and sister Donna Ivory. Daddy is survived by his wife Catherine, son Jerry (Pamela), son Michael (DaleRae), daughter Bonnie (Marvin) Putnam, sister Hazel Park, fourteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.

Daddy, your tiny frail body went through so much in this life, but you were so brave, always kept your sense of humor, and set a wonderful example. Your sky blue eyes always danced with the wisdom of your years while maintaining your sweet child like spirit in your loving heart. We will miss you. We love you.
