FORT MYERS NEWS-PRESS, August 23, 1957
Clewiston, Aug. 22- Bascom Crawford, 55, of LaBelle, died today at his home. He had been a resident of LaBelle many years and was a native of Immokalee. He was a ranger for the U.S. Forestry Service. He leaves five sisters: Mrs. Ruby Crews, Tampa; Mrs. Lottie Long, Sebring; Mrs. Brazzie May, LaBelle; Mrs. G. F. Crawford, Dinsmore; and Mrs. James Horne, Estero; and three brothers, Tillet Crawford and Granville Crawford of LaBelle and Thomas Crawford of Fort Myers. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist church of LaBelle, with Rev. J. roy Crosby, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fort Denaud Cemetery with Futch Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers will be Clarence Crawford, T. J. Crawford, Mark Poole, Benny Guy, Ed O'Bannon and R. T. Whidden.
