Born Dec. 23, 1962, in Cumberland, Mrs. Bowser was the daughter of the late William Edward Zapf Sr. and Jean Arlene (Golden) Zapf.
A graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1981, Patty was a former employee of Hill's Department Store and First United Bank and Trust. She was currently working at First Peoples CFCU, where she had been employed for 20 years. Patty was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the YaYa Sisterhood of Western Maryland. Patty enjoyed the outdoors, kayaking and hiking. She loved music and animals, especially cats. Patty was one of the kindest persons I knew.
Patty is survived by her husband of 25 years, Dave Bowser; her brothers and sisters, William E. Zapf Jr., Doris Baker and husband, Larry, Edward Zapf and wife, Pam, James Zapf and wife, Rondal, and Alan Zapf and wife, Julie; her close friends, Michelle Easton and Joanna Burley Shore; as well as numerous nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Christ Lutheran Church on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Daniel T. Swanson officiating. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to give a special thank you to everyone who has in one way or another helped in Patty's journey, showing their support and the outpouring of love. Thank you to Mary Hendershot College for putting together an amazing benefit, and Jackie Engel for helping set up the GoFundMe to assist with her during our time of need.
