Local historian Elaine Wells surveyed this cemetery in 1999, and recorded the following:
"There [were] in the mid to late 1800s, Brooks families in New Vineyard. John Brooks settled in NV; [married] Eunice Maloon Battle, Widow, Feb. 28 1820. [Born]: 1762 died April 1846 age 84 yrs. This may be the family in the cemetery. (Parker's History of Farmington, Me.)"
