In memory of Sarah the daughter of Richard and Anne SYKES of Mirfield Lane who departed this life Sep 3rd 1836 aged 10 months.
The cup of life just with her lips she prest, Found the taste bitter and declin'd the rest,
Averse then turning from the face of day, She softly sigh'd her little soul away.
Also of the above Richard SYKES who departed this life May 2nd 1838 aged 28 years.
Farewell dear friend, thy trials now are o'er, And pain and sickness will afflict no more;
Sweet be thy slumber, peaceful thy repose, Till the last morn its orient beams disclose,
Then when the great Arch Angel's potent sound, Shall echo thro Creation's ample sound,
May they lov'd dust reviving at the call, Meet his eternal smile who died for all.
