Doris J. Voris, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Rosegate Village in Indianapolis.
Born September 13, 1932 in Russell Springs, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Elbert Sullivan and Bertha(Burton)Sullivan. She married William E. Voris on August 25, 1978 and he preceded her on May 25, 2004.
Survivors include a daughter - Shelly(Gregory)Holland of Shelbyville; a stepson, Danny (Vicky)Voris of Martinsvile; 6 grandchildren - Joshua Barnhorst, April Robinson, John McClintock III, Matthew McClintock, Lindsey Voris, Daniel Voris; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, a son - Mike Barnhorst, 3 siblings - William Sullivan, Joyce Davis, and Glendo Sullivan.
Mrs. Voris had lived in this area for most of her lifetime, after moving from Kentucky.
She attended Shelbyville High School and was a member of Hope's Point Baptist Church.
She retired in 1984 as a phone operator with Indiana Bell/AT&T after 25 years of service.
Doris loved traveling, sewing, crocheting, bowling, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed talking with everyone she had opportunity to meet.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Tommy Hensley officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
