Daughter of Capt. Charles Wills (1775-1820) who was in the militia and a weathy merchant owning the first grocery stores in Richmond (stores 1805-1820).

Married on October 14, 1828 in Richmond, VA to John Frazier Alvey, Sr. (1808-1837 shares same stone). Mother to John Frazier Alvey, Jr. (1829-1904 also on same stone) who was in partnership with Lewis Ginter before the Civil War.

Inherited the Wills mansion built 1809 which still stands today at 407 N 27th Street, Richmond, VA.

Names on stone: Sarah Alvey (1808-1861), John F. Alvey (1808-1837), John F. Alvey, Jr. (1829-1904) and infant daughter Jane Reeve Alvey (died 1837).
