Information for his father, Edmund Quirk, says he was born in Virginia in 1759, was the son of John and Rebecca Quirk, and married Maria Anna Alsop. A native of Philadelphia, he was living on land on Bayou La Nana, 8 miles east of the Sabine River. He was killed by John Bodine in 1835 in San Augustine, Texas.
