Retha earned her BS in 1957 and her Masters in Education in 1962, in Mississippi College, Clinton, MS. She was appointed professor of education and psychology and was electedto the Govenor's Committee for Children and the White House Youth Conference and Women's Who Who. Retha and her husband endowed scholarships at SMU, College of Ozarks and MIS College, The Baker Observatory, SMU Baker Chair of Insurance and the Garst Library.
Services were held by the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield.
Burial was in Marshfield Cemetery
