June Anderson, age 84, formally of Hobbs community Fisher County, Texas passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico.
She was born June 30, 1923, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Otto and Mary Haeslich Hopp. She received her teaching degree from the Milwaukee State Teachers College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She married Clarence Anderson June 9, 1946, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin when he was in the Army. They moved to Texas where she taught school in Hobbs, Texas and Snyder, Texas. She retired from teaching in the early 1970's and helped her husband with the farm. After Clarence passed away she moved to Clovis, New Mexico to be close to her son. She enjoyed music, painting, gardening and attended the First Baptist Church in Portales, New Mexico.
She is survived by her two sons Leslie Anderson and wife Mary of Tenaha, Texas; Wayne Anderson and wife Becky of Clovis, New Mexico; four grandsons James Anderson of Houston, Texas; Joe Anderson and wife Amanda of Center, Texas; David Anderson and wife Susan of Janesville, Wisconsin; and Steven Anderson of Silver City, New Mexico; three great grandchildren Justin, Megan, and Nicholas Anderson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one grandson John Anderson.
Graveside services will be held Friday, February 22, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. CST at the Hobbs Cemetery in Hobbs, Texas with Glen Smith officiating. Mrs. Anderson will be in state for viewing in Clovis, New Mexico on Tuesday until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A visitation will be held in Rotan, Texas at Weathersbee Funeral Home on Thursday February 21, 2008 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.
