May 23, 1947 - December 17, 2022
Funeral services for Christine Handy Bennich, 75, of Hokes Bluff will be 1PM at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Burial will follow in the Union #3 Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11 AM until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Christine (Maw Maw, as she wanted to be called), passed away peacefully Saturday evening, December 17, 2022, at Gadsden Healthcare.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Tressa Handy, all of her brothers and her one sister, her husband, Troy Bennich Sr., and her son, Todd Bennich.
She is survived by her older son Troy (Ronda) Bennich Jr., a special niece, Georgia, other nieces and nephews, and her pride and joy, her four grandchildren, Sanea, Katie, Drake, and Zach Bennich.
Maw Maw spent many years taking care of children in several daycares and in her own home. She loved each one but none more than her own grand babies. Bottles, diapers, rocking chair lullabies, and watching many "firsts" were privileges she enjoyed. Being a mother to her two boys truly showed her path. She had so much love to give all the children she sat with over the years. We are all better for having known her. She will be missed.
Special thanks to the staff at Gadsden Health Care.
